Windows/General Checklist
- find & use the help, and find & edit the options or preferences for programs you've never seen before
- use and customize the start menu and quick launch
- use the taskbar to work in several programs at once
- cut, copy, and paste text between different programs using the mouse or keyboard
- install and properly uninstall programs and hardware
- clear the printing queue
- use the task manager and system tray to see and control what programs are running
- get around in the command line (no, this doesn't come up that often, but learn it anyway)
- use the control panel to change display options & get troubleshooting information
- set up a scheduled virus scan
