Rules

Your session:
Please remember to sign in and out, even if you are not using the internet.

You may use the computer for as long as you like, with two restrictions:

First, staff may need to use or shut down the computers for maintenance, repair or other reasons.

Second, if there are no more computers available, someone who is playing games, or chatting, or has been on for longer than half an hour may be asked to log off.

See our Home page for services available and fees.

General Respect:
Keyboards are for typing. Tables are for eating & drinking over. We have both; please use them appropriately.

Ask permission if you wish to change anything on the computer, including but not limited to:

  • altering the desktop image or screensaver
  • changing browser settings
  • adding anything to/taking anything off of the desktop or start menu
  • installing or deleting programs

Turn off the speakers or bring headphones if you will be using a program or site with many sound effects.

Anyone deliberately treating the equipment, the staff, or the other users disrespectfully will be asked to leave.

Internet:
You may download files with the following extensions: .txt, .doc, .rtf, .pdf, .gif, .jpg, .bmp. Please print your file or save it to a cd or floppy, and delete it from the computer at the end of your session. We do not store personal files.

You must ask permission to download files with any other extension.

Anyone viewing pornographic, hateful, or extremely violent content will be asked to leave. However, beyond this rule, the staff does not supervise or censor the online activities of children and teenagers. Parents who wish to monitor their children's internet use are encouraged to do so themselves.
