HOURS OF OPERATION

The shelter is open daily:
Monday - Friday 8:30am - 10:00am and 12:00pm - 4:30pm
Saturday 8:30am - 4:30pm
Sunday 12:00pm - 3:30pm
We are closed on statutory holidays.

DIRECTIONS

The Renfrew County Branch shelter is located in Petawawa at 387 Paquette Rd.

From Petawawa or Pembroke:
Follow the main road Pembroke St to Petawawa Blvd to the main entrance of CFB Petawawa
Turn left onto Paquette Rd
The shelter is 2 km down the road on the left hand side.

From all other locations:
Access Highway 17 to Petawawa
Exit at CFB Petawawa onto Paquette Rd
The shelter is on the right hand side just after you exit the highway

We accept and place for adoption all types of domestic pets including birds, rodents and reptiles.

MISSION STATEMENT

Consistent with the Ontario SPCA Act, the missions of the Ontario SPCA is to facilitate and provide for province wide leadership on matters relating to the prevention of cruelty to animals and the promotion of animal welfare. The Society's goal is to become a strong, unified and collaborative organization dedicated to the cultivation of a kind and compassionate Ontario for all animals.

  • The Ontario SPCA must act to prevent cruelty and to encourage consideration for all animals.
  • No animal should suffer.
  • All animals should have a good quality of life and should be treated with compassion.
  • The Society must advocate for improved animal welfare and protection.
  • Those who abuse or neglect animals should be appropriately penalized.
  • All animal welfare organizations should work cooperatively for the benefit of animals.
  • The Society should set high standards for animal care, protection and shelter.
  • The Society must educate the public on animal welfare.
  • Dedicated and committed volunteers and staff are essential to the success of the Society.
  • All those who contribute to the success of the Society deserve recognition and appreciation.
  • The Society should serve the whole province.

OBJECTS OF THE OSPCA

The objects of this society are to prevent cruelty to and encourage consideration for animals, birds and fish: by encouraging and assisting in the enforcement of all laws which are now, or may hereafter be, enacted for the protection of animals, birds and fish and securing by lawful means the prosecution of all persons violating such laws; by fostering the formation of local branches and affiliated societies throughout the Province to pursue these same ends in their respective areas; by procuring further legislation for the protection of animals, birds and fish; and by means of literature, addresses and other forms of publicity to create and sustain a general interest in animal welfare.
