ANIMAL SHELTERING:
We provide shelter, care and comfort for the OVER 1000 animals that pass through our doors each year. This is why YOU are so important to us!

ANIMAL ADOPTIONS:
Whether you've chosen a cat or kitten, dog or puppy, we are sure that your new pet will provide you with many years of love and entertainment. Please remember that time, patience and a good sense of humour are some of the most important qualities of a pet owner.

CRUELTY INVESTIGATIONS:
We investigate all complaints concerning animal abuse or neglect. This applies to all animals; domestic, livestock or wildlife.

VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS:

FOSTER PROGRAMS:
Our foster families provide temporary homes for shelter animals that need special care.

HUMANE EDUCATION:
Through our humane education programs we strive to expand children's capacity to show respect for animals and teach safe behaviors.

PUBLIC RELATIONS:
By providing education and information our goal is to reduce violence and encourage a kinder more compassionate society.

BYLAW ENFORCEMENT:
Animal Control Officers enforce CFB Petawawa Standing Orders pertaining to animal control issues for domestic animals.

ARE YOU A DOG OR CAT OWNER?
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

All dogs and cats kept in CFB Petawawa's PMQs must receive yearly (booster + rabies) vaccinations. They must also wear a current dog /cat license. These licenses can be purchased at the shelter at 387 Paquette Road. Please call for more details.

All dogs and cats must remain on their own property and must be under the control of the owner at all times.

A STOOP & SCOOP by-law requires you to pick up after your animal.

If you have an animal control question or problem, feel free to contact our office.
